WAYLAND, MA, Oct. 2, 2020 – Susan Halevi of SES ESOP Strategies spoke at The ESOP Association’s Northeast Regional Conference on Sept. 29, 2020.
Ms. Halevi co-presented “ESOP 101.” The presentation was for an audience new to employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) or those looking for a refresher on the basics. The session provided a better understanding of how an ESOP works, the benefits of ESOPs and ways to improve existing ESOPs.
Ms. Halevi represents companies in ESOP transactions and provides advice to cooperative businesses. She also counsels companies considering alternative paths to employee ownership and mission protection. Recent transactions include an ESOP implementation for a manufacturer, a specialty construction contractor, a service provider and an engineering design firm; the acquisition by an ESOP-owned company of an online retailer; and the design and operation of a perpetual purpose trust holding an ownership interest in a health care company.
Ms. Halevi brings a broad range of experience, technical skill and a problem-solving approach to her work with companies in transition. She began her legal career representing middle-market lenders, investors in commercial real estate, and non-profit organizations. She has a J.D., with honors, from Duke University School of Law, an M.A. from Tufts University and an A.B. from Vassar College.
