BALA CYNWYD, PA, Nov. 5, 2019 – James G. Steiker, President and CEO of SES ESOP Strategies, spoke at the Rutgers NJ/NY Center for Employee Ownership’s 3rd Annual Employee Stock Ownership Plans and Equity Compensation Conference. The event was held Oct. 29, 2019, in New Brunswick, NJ.
In “Legal and Practical Aspects of an ESOP Transaction,” Mr. Steiker discussed core advantages and disadvantages of ESOPs as well as how the plans work. Attendees also learned about typical transaction structures, key legal issues in an ESOP transaction and the roles of the core stakeholders in a transaction.
Mr. Steiker is President and CEO of SES ESOP Strategies, a Stevens & Lee/Griffin Platform company. He is a corporate, pension and tax attorney and financial advisor with more than 30 years of experience in ESOPs and other employee ownership matters. He focuses his practice primarily on ESOP design, transactions and compliance in entrepreneurial companies. He has a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
