Sean-Tamba Matthew Named Among City & State’s “Philadelphia Forty Under 40”

BALA CYNWYD, PA, June 27, 2023 Sean-Tamba Matthew, a Shareholder in Stevens & Lee’s ESOPs – Employee Stock Ownership Plans Group and its affiliate SES ESOP Strategies, has been recognized as among the “Philadelphia Forty Under 40” list published by City & State PA.

Mr. Matthew was also named among the 2021 Greater Philadelphia Region’s “40 Under 40” honorees by the Philadelphia Business Journal

Mr. Matthew is a Shareholder at Stevens & Lee, a full service law firm with 185 attorneys, and a member of SES ESOP Strategies, a national ESOP firm of consulting, financial, investment banking and legal professionals. He advises companies, business owners, boards of directors and employee stock ownership plan trustees on transactional, corporate governance and formation matters related to the design and implementation of ESOPs. His work includes drafting and negotiating agreements and other documents for stock purchases, leveraged buyouts, mergers, reorganizations and corporate governance and formation matters.

Mr. Matthew is a Kellogg Fellow at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations. There he coordinates the Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing’s W.K. Kellogg Foundation program, which helps minority and female business owners and their advisors learn about employee ownership transitions. 

Mr. Matthew serves on the Advisory Board of Talley Management Group, an ESOP-owned company based in Mt. Royal, New Jersey, and the Board of Directors of Empowered Ventures, an ESOP holding company based in Carmel, Indiana. In addition to his professional work, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Independence Mission Schools, a network of 14 independent Catholic schools providing a transformative education to children of all faiths across Philadelphia, and Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, an organization dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Mr. Matthew earned his J.D. from the Temple University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
